Reading can be fun!

Students will be adding an important component to their "homework" this year... reading! I will not be requiring a reading log, and I will NOT be checking to see if they read every night. Instead, they will be writing me a short letter each week talking about what they read.

A sample letter will be provided this week to model the letter for the students. It will be available here as well.

Students are generally expected to read every night, even when they have no other homework. Sixty minutes of homework are expected in sixth grade... so why not spend it reading?
